Duplicate a Scenario
Scenario planning helps decision makers assess potential outcomes and understand the financial impact of both positive and negative possibilities.
-
Example:
-
A conservative plan for an unstable market.
-
An aggressive plan based on growth opportunities.
-
With PlanGuru, you can easily duplicate an existing scenario — including all imported data and projection logic — to test variations side by side.
1️⃣ Why Duplicate a Scenario?
Duplicating scenarios allows you to:
-
Create conservative vs. aggressive versions of your plan.
-
Model what-if scenarios without altering your original plan.
-
Manage parallel forecasts to prepare for multiple outcomes.
-
Build industry templates to reuse across different companies.
2️⃣ How to Duplicate a Scenario
-
Open the Scenario you want to duplicate.
-
Click the Settings icon (top-right).
-

-
A window will appear prompting you to:
-
Name the new scenario.

-
3️⃣ Where to Save the Duplicate
-
Same Company & Project (most common):
-
Create alternate scenarios side by side for comparison.
-
-
Different Company or Project:
-
Useful for creating industry templates.
-
Example: Build a baseline industry model in one company, then duplicate it into another client company.
-
4️⃣ Switching Between Scenarios
-
Use the Scenario Dropdown menu to quickly switch between scenarios.
-
This makes it easy to compare different versions in real time.
